Welcome to The Barrie Astronomy Club

The Barrie Astronomy Group is a welcoming, community-driven space for anyone curious about the night sky. Whether you’re just learning to spot your first constellation or you’ve been imaging distant galaxies for years, you’ll find a place here.

Our group is completely free to join and open to all ages and experience levels. We believe astronomy should be accessible, engaging, and shared—because the universe is far more fun when explored together.

We meet on the third Thursday of each month at the Barrie Public Library, where members gather to learn, share, and connect. In addition to our meetings, we also host observing nights where we head out under the stars for hands-on stargazing and telescope time.

From casual skywatching to deeper discussions about astrophotography, planets, and deep-sky objects, there’s always something to explore. At its heart, the Barrie Astronomy Club is about connection—bringing together people who look up and wonder.
